Guidelines about how to use this invoice template

This invoice template from Zealancer.nz applies to freelancers/contractors based in New Zealand. It is up to you whether you want to use this invoice template. We do not assume any warranty. Please adapt the content/text to your situation.

Invoice number: This should be a consecutive and unique number.
Date and description: Statement of the activity completed and date of delivery, e.g. “Process strategy for warehouse management on November 17th.”
Duration: Statement of the working time spent on the activity in decimal hours (e.g. “0.5 h” corresponds to 30 minutes).
Hourly rate: Net hourly rate in dollars per hour.
Amount: Calculated as duration x hourly rate
Other expenses: Details of expenses that will be invoiced to the client.
Total: Sum of the net amounts.
GST: “GST 15%, otherwise “GST 0% for small businesses with a turnover (gross income minus GST) that is below $60,000. Special rules apply if you are not based in New Zealand or your client is abroad.
Total amount: Calculated from total + GST.
NZBN: New Zealand Business Number.
